Currently, the Utilities Division operates two water treatment plants is in the process of constructing a new water treatment plant. This new plant is located south of West Mitchell Hammock Rd. just east of the back half of Florida Golf. The facility will use the latest technologies and will substantially improve the City's water quality.

Upon completion of the new treatment plant, the oldest of the City's existing water plants, located at 707 S. Central Avenue, will be decommissioned and its land and building will be available for other uses by the City. The other plant, located at 1600 Alafaya Woods Blvd., will be modified into a re-pump facility for both drinking and reclaimed water. The new plant will be able to produce 10 million gallons per day of drinking water.
