The City of Oviedo Fire Department is here to serve you. The department has grown from a small contingent of interested citizens to a professional group of dedicated firefighters.



There are four divisions of the Fire Department. These divisions include Administration, Suppression/Rescue, Prevention and Public Education, and Training/EMS. The Fire Department is also responsible for Emergency Management.

ADMINISTRATION handles the day to day business of the department such as budgeting, paperwork, purchasing inquiries and management of the department.

SUPPRESSION / RESCUE handles all emergency fire and emergency medical alarms in the City. The division provides ambulance transport to area hospitals.

PREVENTION/PUBLIC EDUCATION
is responsible for plans review for new construction, fire inspections, fire investigations, and public education.

TRAINING/EMS/SAFETY is responsible for department wide training, Emergency Medical Services and new employee orientation.

The Fire Department is also responsible for EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT preparing the City in case of a man-made or natural disaster and terrorism readiness/response. This department maintains the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. The department has a 24' Mobile Command Post trailer to facilitate operations in the field. The Fire Department also has a Fire Explorer Post for youths ages 14 to 21 interested in the Fire Service. This post participates in department activities such as public education events and training exercises.
