Pool Safety Tips 

Did you know Florida leads the nation in pool drownings?

     The City of Oviedo Fire Rescue Department encourages you to practice Pool Safety to prevent injury or loss of life with your swimming pool and/or spa.  These Pool Safety Tips will help you prevent a tragedy that is far to common in the State of Florida...

• Install a pool water motion alarm.

• Install a fence or barrier around the swimming pool.

• Install a door alarm or door chimes on doors leading to swimming pool area

• Make sure pool enclosure is locked prohibiting entry from outside visitors.

• Remove toys from pool after use, from pool deck and surrounding area.

• Keep pool chemicals and supples securely locked in a cabinet and away from children.

• Install a telephone near pool deck area to prevent leaving children swimming and unsupervised activity and for calling for emergency help when needed.

• Never allow pool or spa to be used without adult supervision.

• Make sure spa cover is secure after use.   

• Dial 911 in an emergency...
