Jeffrey A. Chudnow was appointed Chief of Police for the City of Oviedo on May 7, 2007. Chief Chudnow served  as a Deputy Chief of Police in Coral Springs, Florida, prior to his appointment in Oviedo.  

Chief Chudnow has over 33 years of law enforcement experience; the last 25 of them have been in Coral Springs where over his career he led all divisions of the Coral Springs Department.  Chief Chudnow holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement Administration.  He served as the Chairperson for the Broward County Juvenile Assessment Center Oversight Committee, and the Broward Institute of Public Safety Joint Advisory Committee. He has been a member of Coral Springs Medical Center Community Relations Council.  Chief Chudnow's final position in Coral Springs was serving as Deputy Chief of Coral Spring Police Department’s Administrative Division, a position he's held since 2002.  

Joan Sampson is the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police.   Ms. Sampson has been with the Oviedo Police Department since September, 1997. Prior to coming to the Police Department, Ms. Sampson worked in the private sector for a major corporation for fifteen years.
