What:  Oviedo Mall Blvd./Dovera Blvd. Striping
Who:   Fausnight
When:  Tuesday, May 08, 2012
Time:   9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
 
Fausnight will be re-striping Oviedo Mall Blvd., from Red Bug Lake Road to SR 426 (Broadway) and Dovera Blvd., from Red Bug Lake Road to Oviedo Mall Blvd.  Work will begin about 9:00 pm tonight and stop about 6:00 am.   The contractor is anticipating approximately 2 nights for the work to be completed, weather permitting.  Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) will include single lane closures.

What:
  Big Oaks and Twin Rivers Phase I Reclaim Water Retrofit Project
Who:   Intercounty Engineering, Inc.
When:  Contractor is to begin work on Monday, April 30, 2012
Time:  Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
 

This project includes the installation of approximately 8,900 LF of combined 10” and 4” reclaimed watermain within the Big Oaks development and Twin Rivers Phase I development.  The reclaim lines will be installed within the roadway therefore single lane closures will occur throughout the project.  All roads within the 2 developments will be resurfaced when the project is complete.  The contractor, Intercounty Engineering plans on starting within Twin Rivers Phase I on April 30, 2012.  The contractor plans on beginning the east side of Big Oaks on July 3rd and the west side on July 20th.  Staff has been in contact with the HOA and notifications will be provided to residents by a variable message board or handouts as appropriate.   


 

What:  Curb Replacement
Who:   Public Works Operations
When:  Monday, April 30, 2012
 
Public Works Operations Staff will be replacing the curb (valley crossing) on the north side of Shaffer Trail at Alafaya Woods Blvd.  The entrance onto the north side of Shaffer Trail will be closed for up to 72 hours.  Residents can enter within this section of Alafaya Woods development through Corkwood Drive.   The following are the sequence of events:
·         Monday, April 30th, removal of the existing concrete curb followed by forming of the new curb.
·         Tuesday, May 1st,  Staff anticipates to pour the new curb and allowing time for concrete to cure.
·         Wednesday, May 2nd, Staff will reopen the entrance onto Shaffer Trail. 
 
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) will require the closure of the outside westbound traffic lane on Alafaya Woods Blvd., intermittently.  A detour will be established for the affected residents.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dave Waller at ext. 5667.  Thank you!
 

What:  Streetscape/Sidewalk Improvements Along SR 434/Central Avenue

Who:   Central Florida Environmental Corporation (CFE )

When:  April and May

Time:   Monday - Friday

The contractor completed the textured asphalt portion of this project on April 8th in accordance with the attached  design layout.  Future road closures related to this project are not anticipated but will be posted here if scheduled.

 


 

 

What:  Washington Heights Sidewalk Project 

Who:   Stage Door II

When:  January through July, 2012

Time:  Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Installation of approximately 7,000 SY of concrete sidewalk and driveway aprons throughout the Johnson Hill Development and other residential roadways.  The roadways included are: Avenue B, Stephen Ave., Reed Ave., Harrison St., Taylor St., Jackson St., Wilson Ave., and Washington St.

·         Approximately 1,700 LF of concrete curb and gutter

·         Detectable warning surfaces for all curb returns

·         Striping to include crosswalks and stop bars. 

·         Drainage improvements.

 This project is a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) federally funded project.  Construction will be under the oversight of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).  The project will be substantially complete within 180 calendar days and a final completion of 210 calendar days.  As always, the maintenance of traffic (MOT) may require intermittent delays during construction which may possibly include single lane closures. 


What:  C.R. 419 and Snow Hill Road Intersection Improvements 

Who:   JCB Construction

When:  January through April, 2012

Time:  Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This is a Seminole County project.  

The project description is C.R. 419 & Snow Hill Road Intersection Improvements.  The improvements include curb work, and stormwater and driveway improvements at the intersection.  

The project will be substantially complete within 90 calendar days and a final completion of 120 calendar days.  Maintenance of traffic (MOT) may require intermittent delays during construction which may possibly include single lane closures between the hours of 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. 


 

What:  Red Bug Lake Road Pedestrian Overpass Bridge 

Who:   American Bridge

When:  Ongoing until mid-June

This is a Seminole County project. 

Work continues on the Pedestrian Overpass Bridge however there are no additional road closures to report at this time.  All lanes will be open to traffic until further notice.  The project will be complete by June 1, 2012.
