Resurfacing
Resurfacing work for the current fiscal year began in March and is currently underway. The project should be complete within 90 days. The project was advertised via Bid No. 11-12 and was awarded by City Council to The Middlesex Corporation who was the low bidder.
Information regarding what roads will be resurfaced as part of this project can be seen by clicking on the link below. You may contract Sofia Liatsos at (407) 971-5651 or Bobby Wyatt at (407) 971-5648 with any questions.
Resurfacing of City-maintained roads will continue to be a major focus of the City’s Capital Improvements Program. Over the next 5 years, approximately 26.5 miles of the City’s 250 lane miles will be resurfaced at a cost of approximately $2.3 million. The resurfacing program is funded through the City’s share of the 6 Cent Gas Tax levied in Seminole County, of which the City currently receives approximately $800,000 per year. The current average condition rating of the recommended list of roads is currently 65 (with 100 being excellent condition) although half the roads on the 5 year list are below that condition rating. The resurfacing schedule and the listings of streets that are scheduled for future years, can be obtained on the following links:
