Willa Lake Stormwater Improvement Project

Willa Lake Subdivision has experienced unusual high groundwater conditions. The high groundwater has created saturated yards, road pavement failures and private septic system failures as well as flooding during periods of heavy rainfall. The condition may be caused by a number of conditions since construction of the subdivision. The downstream conveyance system has been reduced by construction of SR-417, a high concentration of septic systems, and failure of the subdivision's under-drain system. A Geotechnical evaluation indicated that the installation of new underdrains within the roadway would help to alleviate the flooding.  Staff completed the project in June of 2011 and the roadway was resurfaced as part of the annual road resurfacing project.
