In an effort to improve the capacity of the Mitchell Hammock/ SR-434 intersection, specifically the west leg, the City has increased the storage length of the existing east bound right turn lane on Mitchell Hammock Road by approximately 400 feet. The additional storage creates shorter wait times for the east bound through traffic.  In addition to pavement, the project involves closure of the existing open ditch system on the south side of Mitchell Hammock Road. The new system was piped, with a grass area between the back of the curb and the sidewalk.  Project was completed in August, 2011, on time and within budget.
