The City of Oviedo and Oviedo Citizens In Action, Inc. (OCIA) invite you to join us as we
pay tribute to Nobel Prize Winner, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our celebration includes a
parade, fun day in the park, talent show, elementary art contest and a diverse mix of music
and entertainment for people of all ages. This year lunch will be provided at $2.00 per
person.
Parade! Parade! Parade!
The celebration begins at 10:00am with a parade from Oviedo High School to Round Lake
Park. Businesses, schools, churches, and civic groups are encouraged to enter a float,
vehicle, or walking unit in the parade. The community is also encouraged to join in the
spirit of the day by viewing the parade.
Elementary Student Art Contest
Students in grades K-2 and 3-5 are invited to participate in the art contest. This year’s
contest theme is “What is your Dream?” Rules and information for the contest are included
on the application form.
K-12 Talent Show
Elementary, Middle and High school students are encourage to show their talents.
Applications for the Art Contest and the Talent Show can also be downloaded from
www.ocianow.org. Prizes for the Art Contest and Talent Show will be awarded.
We encourage your participation in each of the activities planned for this community
celebration on January 16, 2012.
