Operation identification is a crime prevention effort by the Oviedo Police.  The Community Relations Section of the Department has an engraving tool, which is used to place personal information onto your electronics equipment.

Your personal ID number or a part of your social security number will be engraved on the equipment. By participating in the program you make the equipment easily recognized if pawned or sold.   Participation in the this program gives you some tools to deter crime.
