Internal Affairs is a part of the Professional Standards office managed by Lt. Mike Beavers. Lt. Beavers began his career with the Oviedo Police Department in 1992. Lt. Beavers has served the City's Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Task Force Agent with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office City County Investigative Bureau (CCIB) and the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Patrol Lieutenant and Community Response Team Lieutenant before being appointed as the department’s Professional Standards Lieutenant. Lt. Beavers earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Saint Leo University.
