Oviedo Barracudas Summer Swim Team

Barracudas Summer Swim Team is designed for the novice swimmer. We practice several days a week and compete in meets. The swimmers will work on their strokes, distance swimming, starts, turns, finishes, and relays. The meets are held at the Aquatic Facility on Friday nights/Saturday mornings throughout the summer. All swimmers receive ribbons for every event.

General Information:

Swimmers ages 6 - 13 years old
Swimmers MUST pass the try-out prior to registration
Season runs June 4th - August 4th
Practice time is your choice at registration on a first come, first serve basis. There is NO difference in practices
Swimmers will be divided and coached by age group in each practice. Age groups: 6-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds, 11-13 year olds
Practice times:
    Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays
        7:30-8:30am - Blue Barracudas
       8:30-9:30am - Green Barracudas
   Tuesdays & Thursdays
        6:30-8pm - Red Barracudas
It is recommended swimmers miss no more than three weeks of practice
Barracuda swimmers compete in meets throughout the summer months - meets are required
Swimmers must attend five regular meets to qualify for the Championship Meet
Meet Dates:
Meets: June 9, 16, 23, 30, July 6, 14, 21, 28
Championship Meet: August 4

Try-Outs:

Try-outs are held at the following times:
Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-8pm - Aquatic Facility
Saturday, May 12 - 7am - 11am - Aquatic Facility
Swimmers who cannot make the try-out times may contact Lori to set-up alternate times
Swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle with correct breathing, 25 yards of backstrokes, 15 yards of breaststroke
