Water Distribution

The City of Oviedo's Water Distribution Division provides with minimal interruption of water service:

  • safe and sanitary installation and repair of water mains
  • installation of water services
  • installation and service of meters and meter boxes
  • installation and service of air release valves
  • auto flushing devices
  • fire hydrants and valves

The Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of:Hydrant

  • approximately 160 miles of water mains ranging in diameter from two (2) to 36 inches
  • 2,348 isolation valves
  • 1,050 fire hydrants
  • over 12,000 water meters and  service lines throughout the distribution system

 The Water Distribution Division is also responsible for exercising valves, flushing hydrants, trouble shooting meters, assisting the Water Production Division with water quality control issues, assisting the Finance Department in the facilitation of work orders, service connection/disconnections and reading meters.

How do I report a water leak or line break?

Between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm you may call 407-971-5692, after 3:30 pm, nights and weekends call 407-971-5675.

How do I turn off my water in an emergency?

Typically, when a house is built, a shut off valve is installed at the closest hose bib to the water meter.  If you cannot locate the shut off valve, or it does not turn off, please call the Utility Division. Between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm you may call 407-971-5692, after 3:30 pm, nights and weekends call 407-971-5675.

How do I establish new or terminate existing water service with the City of Oviedo?

To establish or terminate service you will need to visit the Utility Billing Division of the Finance Department located on the first floor of Oviedo City Hall, 400 Alexandria Boulevard, call 407-971-5535.

Who would I contact if I feel that my water bill is too high?

If you feel that there is a discrepancy with the consumption charges on your water bill, you will need to contact the Utility Billing Division of the Finance Department at 407-971-5535.

Who would I contact regarding low water pressure or water quality concerns?

If your pressure appears to be lower than normal and/or you have water quality concerns, please call 407-971-5692 during normal business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
