The City of Oviedo provides our customers with safe, reliable drinking water from two interconnected water treatment facilities. During the year ending 2006, we delivered 1,662,880,211 gallons of drinking water to more than 39,924 customers in the City of Oviedo and Seminole County's Black Hammock area.

The West Mitchell Hammock Water Treatment Facility (WMHWTF) is the City's main production facility providing the entire City with high quality drinking water. During periods of high flow, due to operation of irrigation systems, the A.M. JOnes Water Treatment Facility, operates to boost water production. This provide better flow volumes to the north eastern section of the City.
The City plans to make improvements to the distribution system within the next year to allow the WMHWTF to provide enough water flow to all parts of the City under all flow conditions. The WMHWTF has state-of-the-art computer technology, chemical treatment systems and a new Forced Draft Aeration process that removes 99% of the hydrogren sulfide that naturally occurs in ground water. This provied the City with a fresher tasting water with a sparkling appearance.
The City of Oviedo prepares an Annual Drinking Water Quality Report. You may access reports from 2002 to 2006 by clicking on their titles below:
