How do I report a water leak or line break?

Between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm you may call 407-971-5692, after 3:30 pm, nights and weekends call 407-971-5675.

How do I turn off my water in an emergency?

Typically, when a house is built, a shut off valve is installed at the closest hose bib to the water meter.  If you cannot locate the shut off valve, or it does not turn off, please call the Utility Division. Between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm you may call 407-971-5692, after 3:30 pm, nights and weekends call 407-971-5675.

How do I establish new or terminate existing water service with the City of Oviedo?

To establish or terminate service you will need to visit the Utility Billing Division of the Finance Department located on the first floor of Oviedo City Hall, 400 Alexandria Boulevard, call 407-971-5535.

Who would I contact if I feel that my water bill is too high?

If you feel that there is a discrepancy with the consumption charges on your water bill, you will need to contact the Utility Billing Division of the Finance Department at 407-971-5535.

Who would I contact regarding low water pressure or water quality concerns?

If your pressure appears to be lower than normal and/or you have water quality concerns, please call 407-971-5692 during normal business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

What is a sewer lift station, and what should I do if the red light is flashing or the siren is going off?

A lift station is a pumping station whose main purpose is to lift wastewater from one level to a higher level, either to pass over some obstruction, or to accommodate changes in elevation in route to either another lift station , or to a wastewater treatment facility. If you see the red light flashing and/or hear the siren, you should immediately call the Utility Department at 407-971-5692 between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm. After 3:30 pm, nights and weekends call 407-971-5675.

Who do I contact if a manhole is overflowing?

If you see a manhole overflowing between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm you may call 407-971-5692, after 3:30 pm, nights and weekends call 407-971-5675.

How do I find out if reclaimed water is available in my neighborhood?

To find out if reclaimed water is available in your neighborhood call the Utility Department at 407-971-5692, Monday-Friday between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm.

I currently irrigate my lawn with potable water.  What do I need to do to switch my irrigation to reclaimed water if it is available in my neighborhood?

If reclaimed water is available in your neighborhood and you would like to switch your irrigation system over, you will need to call the City's Cross Connection Control Coordinator at 407-971-5693 to find out the procedure for switching.

What is a backflow preventer?

A backflow preventer is a means or mechanical device designed to prevent backflow.

Why does my backflow preventer have to be tested every year?

Mechanical backflow preventers have internal seals, springs, and moving parts that are subject to fouling, wear,and fatigue, which can lead to failure. Therefore, all backflow preventers must be tested with properly calibrated gauges and equipment at least once annually to ensure that they are functioning properly.
