The Police Department has one K-9 team, Officer David Capetillo and Nero.

Nero is a 1-year-old German Shepard from Germany weighing approximately 80 lbs.

The Traffic Unit is tasked with the reduction of traffic crashes and related injuries and fatalities through proactive enforcement efforts and community education programs designed to create a higher awareness of traffic safety.

The Training Coordinator is Lt. Travis Cockcroft. He is responsible for maintaining all the mandatory training requirements for the department as required by the FDLE. 

Lt. Cockcroft  started with the Oviedo Police Department in 2000.

The Community Patrol Division is managed by Deputy Chief  Ron Jacobs. Deputy Chief Jacobs began his law enforcement career in October, 1972 with the Orlando Police Department.
