City of Oviedo Public Works Department

Lockwood Blvd Sidewalk Project

Construction of approximately 8,000 feet of 6-foot and 8-foot wide concrete sidewalk along the west side of North Lockwood Boulevard was completed and closed out in November of 2010.  

Lockwood Blvd Resurfacing (ARRA)

Construction of the North Lockwood Boulevard Road Resurfacing Project was completed in June of 2010 by A&M SI Construction Company who completed the work on time and within budget. 

Public Works Administration Building

Construction of the new Public Works Administration Building located at 1655 Evans Street is now complete.  The building, which houses Public Works Administration, Engineering and Utilities is part of a new Public Works Complex that will be built in phases over the next three years. 

Evans Street Public Works Complex

After years of growth and expansion, the City's Public Works Department has outgrown its infrastructure. In an effort to relieve the crowded City Hall Administration Building and to give the Department an effective modern center to operate out of, a new Public Works Complex is currently underway. 

SR 426/CR 419 Project

 
The Project
The SR-426 / CR-419 project is an urban roadway improvement project that will ultimately connect the existing 4-lane roadway at Pine Street (near Oviedo High School) to the 4-lane segment of CR-

City Beautification Master Plan and Study

The City's Beautification and Master Plan identified locations within the City as potential gateway entrances.  Seven locations were identified as potential gateway entrances, four of which are on State and County, requiring jurisdictional coordination.

Flood Maps & Stormwater Utility Information

The City's Stormwater Utility staff serves the citizens of Oviedo by cost effectively managing, maintaining, protecting, and improving the public stormwater drainage system to prevent damage to life and property from storms, floods and hurricanes.  We also work to protect water quality and safeguard our natural resources for all generations.

The City's Engineering Department manages all of the City's Capital Projects involving roadway construction, major utility construction, stormwater, and municipal building construction.

Engineering Services

The Engineering Services Division of Public Works performs in-house civil engineering design for City projects, reviews the site civil design of proposed development within the City, provides inspection services and maintains the City Engineering Standards Manual. In addition, Engineering Services provides project management for a variety of City projects.
