Capital ProjectsCapital projects category Mitchell Hammock Road Intersection Improvement ProjectConstruction of the Mitchell Hammock Road Improvement Project (Bid No. Lockwood Blvd Sidewalk ProjectConstruction of approximately 8,000 feet of 6-foot and 8-foot wide concrete sidewalk along the west side of North Lockwood Boulevard was completed and closed out in November of 2010. Lockwood Blvd Resurfacing (ARRA)Construction of the North Lockwood Boulevard Road Resurfacing Project was completed in June of 2010 by A&M SI Construction Company who completed the work on time and within budget. Public Works Administration BuildingConstruction of the new Public Works Administration Building located at 1655 Evans Street is now complete. The building, which houses Public Works Administration, Engineering and Utilities is part of a new Public Works Complex that will be built in phases over the next three years. Evans Street Public Works ComplexAfter years of growth and expansion, the City's Public Works Department has outgrown its infrastructure. In an effort to relieve the crowded City Hall Administration Building and to give the Department an effective modern center to operate out of, a new Public Works Complex is currently underway. The SR-426 / CR-419 project is an urban roadway improvement project that will ultimately connect the existing 4-lane roadway at Pine Street (near Oviedo High School) to the 4-lane segment of CR-
City Beautification Master Plan and StudyThe City's Beautification and Master Plan identified locations within the City as potential gateway entrances. Seven locations were identified as potential gateway entrances, four of which are on State and County, requiring jurisdictional coordination.
